Set up an authentication passkey

Use Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) to verify your identity

Updated over a week ago

After you have logged into both the console and mobile app, you are asked to set up an authentication passkey to verify your identity. You can do it after you create the account or at a later date. MFA passkeys add another layer of security.

Set up a passkey during onboarding

  1. Click Register New Passkey to start the process.

  2. Select the relevant option.

Whenever you log into Utila, you'll be asked to use your MFA passkey.

You can use your passkey to complete the login or switch back to approving the login with the Utila mobile app.

You are now ready to create your first vault in your account. If you have been invited to a vault, you are asked to pair your device with the vault.

Set up a passkey after onboarding

If you didn't set up an authentication passkey to verify your identity during onboarding, you can create the account at a later date.

  1. On the console, click your username at the bottom of the left navigation menu and then click Multi-Factor Authentication.

  2.
On the Multi-Factor Authentication page, click + Register New Passkey.

  3. Follow from step 2 the process outlined in Set up a passkey during onboarding.
