Once you are logged in and verified using your MFA passkey, you are ready to create your first vault. If you've been invited to a vault, read Join an existing vault for more details.
Until now, creating your personal backup was optional since you had no key shares. You will have key shares once you create your new vault. This requires you to create a personal backup in case your device is damaged, lost, or your app is deleted.
Enter the name of the new vault and click Create vault.
You now need to pair this vault with your mobile device.
Open your device, click the 3-line menu and select the new vault.
On the opening screen, tap Start to set up the device.
When complete, click Continue to vault.
When pairing, your vault keys are generated, so you need to create a personal backup.
On the mobile device,follow the instructions to create the personal backup. For more details see the article Create your personal backup.
Once you have completed the process, the keys and corresponding shares are generated in a distributed fashion between Utila and your mobile device. You are now ready to add a wallet to the vault.
