Enforce AML policy

Ensure your organization remain AML compliant

Updated over a month ago

Enforcement based on AML policy is only available for Chainalysis

Outgoing transfers

When creating an outgoing transfer, Utila indicates if the transaction is sent for screening.

If the transfer is denied by the AML policy its status reflects this. For Chainalysis, you can see the deny AML rule and corresponding alerts.

Incoming deposits

Incoming deposits that are subject to screening and AML policy are either cleared, meaning the funds are available to use, or frozen, meaning the funds are currently marked as tainted and cannot be transferred using Utila.

Each screened incoming deposit is marked as "Allowed" (cleared), "Frozen", or "Resolved". You can filter transactions based on this status.

Resolve a frozen transfer

For frozen transactions, Click View to see what AML rule caused the asset to be frozen and the corresponding alerts from the AML vendor.

Check the reasons for the denial, then click Resolve Funds to make these funds accessible again. The transaction is then subject to admin quorum approval according to your admin quorum settings.

The outstanding frozen balances can be seen on the Wallets or Asset balances page.
